TIMUN EMAS

*In the village lived an old widow named Mbok Sarni . Every day she spends her time alone , because Mbok Sarni didn’t have a child. In the afternoon Mbok Sarni go to the forest to collect firewood, middle of the road Mbok Sarni met with enormous giant .

Giant                           : Hi , where are you ?

Mbok Sarni                 : I just want to gather firewood , let me pass

Giant                           : Hahaha .... You should pass after you give a human child to eat me .

Mbok Sarni                 : I do not have children

Giant                           : O old woman , I give you seed the cucumber . Plant these seeds in your garden after two weeks you will have a child . But remember , leave me the child after the age is six years .

Mbok Sarni                 : Alright Giant

* Mbok Sarni left the forest.

* In Mbok Sarni’s village, there a neighbor who always mocked Mbok Sarni just because she didn’t have a child.

Neighbors                  : Ye old widow from anywhere all day ?

Mbok Sarni                 : I am from the forest .

Neighbors                 : then what do you take?

Mbok Sarni                 : cucumber seeds from big giants who lived in the woods. I will plant these on my garden

Neighbors                  : are you sure? Don’t too much hope. You will never have a child.

Mbok Sarni                 : yes. This giant said to me, two weeks later this cucumber will give me a child.

Neighbor's children   : Ahahaha you just dreaming! Poor you

Neighbors                  : yes, you’re right honey. Let’s leave this old widow

Children neighbors   : okay mommy. Good bye Mbok Sarni

* After two weeks, one of the cucumber grow very big. And then, Mbok Sarni take it up and cut in to two the cucumber. How surprised, she found a beautiful baby inside the cucumber. The baby was named Timun Emas

* Years passed by and Timun Emas grew into a lovely girl. Her mother were very proud of her but her heart hurt so badly when she remembered her promise to Giant

* One day the Giant came for the Mbok Sarnis’s promise. Mbok Sarni’s was scared and didn’t want to lose the Timun Emas

Giants                         : Wuahaha.. Where is your lovely daughter? I come to pick her up

Mbok Sarni                 : Oh giant , came here two years. The more mature the child is , the more delicious to eat at.

Giant                           : Okay, old widow.

* Two years later

* In the morning Mbok Sarni told Timun Emas to met the hermit

Mbok Sarni                 : Timun Emas..

Timun Emas               : Yes mom

Mbok Sarni                 : you must go to Mountain to meet the hermit

Timun Emas               : okay mom. I go now mom.

* After meet with the hermit, Timun Emas told the story. The hermit then gave four small packets, that is cucumber seeds, needles, salt and chili seed

Hermit                         : here is the bundle. There are four things message inside. They will help you for run away from the Giant

*In the morning the giant came again to Mbok Sarni’s promise

Giant                           : Oh old woman , where’s your daughter? I can’t wait for longtime anymore.

Mbok Sarni                 : Buto Ijo please don’t take my lovely daughter. I’m really love her.

Giant                           : Where's Timun Emas? Leave it to me !

*Mbok Sarni cried and then Timun Emas out of the hiding place

Timun Emas               : I'm here giant , catch me if you can ! ! !

* Timun Emas was scared so she ran as quickly as she could. The Giant chased Timun Emas and he was getting closer and closer. First, Timun Emas took a handful of salt from the bundle

Timun Emas               : take that you evil Giant

Giant                           : Ahahah I’will get you

Timun Emas               : Oh my God

Giant                           : wait for me, you little girl!

*And then she took the chili seed

Giant                           : so you want play with me?

Timun Emas               : take that one two, evil Giant! Oh no. He still chasing me. I must run faster

*The Giant still chasing Timun Emas. So Timun Emas took the cucumber seeds

Giant                           : What now? Cucumber look so delicious.

*Timun Emas still run away

Giant                           : I’ll come and make you my dinner

*Desperatelly, Timun Emas threw her last weapon, the needle paste. Magically the needle turned into a big swamp. Buto Ijo was drowned and died instantly.

*Timun Emas was thankfull to God and came back to her home with MbokSarni
